Introduction
If you want to experience the thrill of the Himalayas, trek in the snow and enjoy camping between nature, then the Kedarkantha trek is the best option for you. This trek is not only suitable for beginners but also offers a magical experience, especially in winters. In this article, we will tell you in detail about when to go, how to go, what to carry and how to make your Kedarkantha trek a smooth and memorable experience.

Kedarkantha Trek Overview

The Kedarkantha trek starts from Sankri village in Uttarakhand and falls inside the Govind Pasu Vihar National Park. The trek takes you to a height of about 12,500 feet and gives you a 360-degree view of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. The trek is famous for its snowy path, deodar forest, Judha ka Talab, and summit sunrise.

Why Choose Kedarkantha Trek?

The Kedarkantha trek is perfect for those who want to start their first trekking trip. It is suitable for beginners, with moderate level challenges, but can be easily completed with basic fitness. During the winter season, especially between December to February, the entire route is covered with snow, making it a dreamy snow trek. Walking amidst snowfall and watching the sunrise from the summit is a magical experience. During this trek, you get to see beautiful campsites like Juda Ka Talab and Kedarkantha Base Camp, where camping gives a different adventurous experience. Also, the Kedarkantha trek price will range between INR 5000 to 7000 per person and short, completed in just 5-6 days, so it is the best option for short holidays and is affordable too.

Best Time for Kedarkantha Trek

The charm of the Kedarkantha trek varies according to the season, but some months are particularly ideal for this trek. December to March is perfect for those who want to enjoy the real fun of a snow trek. During this season, you get frozen lakes, snow-covered paths and snow-capped peaks from the summit, giving a fairytale feel. April to June is spring, during which the paths become a bit greener and the weather is quite pleasant - this is the best time for those who like clear views and less cold. October to November is also a good time, as you get autumn colours and crystal-clear skies. But avoid trekking between July to September as it is the monsoon season and the paths become slippery
